Slovenia's National Pavilion at "Dental-Expo 2011"

Dear Entrepreneur,

As a director of Public Agency of the Republic of Slovenia for Enterpreneurship and Foreign Investments - JAPTI please allow me to say a few words about our agency.

One of the main task of our agency is to run programmes aimed at company internationalisation and attracting foreign direct investments. Our mission is to enhance Slovenia’s economic competitiveness through technical and financial assistance to entrepreneurs, businesses and investors.

We are a point of contact for foreign investors, local exporters and importers, and we work closely with key players including the Slovenian Government and local authorities, as well as business, trade and professional associations.

JAPTI’s package of investor services helps investors recognise Slovenia’s competitive advantages. Support and facilitation of services for investors are free of charge. These include all sorts of information such as legislation, taxes, incentive, industrial sites and local suppliers. We also offer consultancy and other services in the investment phase and investor-monitoring in the post-investment phase. We offer links with industry and local authorities and organise fact-finding missions, business and investment conferences and trade shows.

Slovenia has developed an incentive system in an effort to give impetus to foreign direct investment expected to boost the country's economic development: the creation of new jobs, the transfer of new technologies and know-how, and outsourcing opportunities where the local companies would get new business partners. The instruments of the Government's pro-active stance to investment policy also serve to motivate the foreign investors who are already running operations in Slovenia to upgrade their capacities or to expand their operations in Slovenia.
